E autorizzata la stampa per uso interno.EN 1034-132005 E 3 Foreword This European Standard EN 1034-132005 has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 198 “Printing and paper machinery - Safety”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2006, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by May 2006. This European Standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directives. For relationship with EU Directives, see informative Annex ZA, which is an integral part of this European Standard. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are indicated in the scope of this European Standard. For machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this C standard, the following stipulation applies When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type B standards or from provisions made in EN 1034-12000, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards. 1 Scope This European Standard applies to machines for de-wiring bales and units and shall be used together with EN 1034-12000. It deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and hazard events relevant to machines for de-wiring bales and units, when used as intended and under conditions reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer as incorrect application see clause 4. This European Standard is not applicable to hand-held devices. This European Standard is not applicable to machines for de-wiring bales and units which are manufactured before the date of publication of this document by CEN. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this European Standard. This machinery includes the de-wiring device, integrated continuous conveyor for moving the bales and units, the loading conveyor, the positioning device and the wire ejection device, including the drive and control systems. E autorizzata la stampa per uso interno.EN 1034-132005 E 9 5 Safety requirements and/or measures 5.1 General Machinery shall comply with the safety requirements and/or measures of this clause. In addition, the machines shall be designed according to the principles of EN 12100-12003 for hazards relevant but not significant, which are not dealt with by this document. 5.2 De-wiring device and loading 5.2.1 In order to prevent access to the de-wiring device danger zone, guards shall be provided, e.g. fencing in accordance with 3.10 of EN 10342000 and the safety distances in accordance with Table 2 of EN 2941992 shall be complied with. Where access to the danger zone is required, e.g. for make-ready, clearing jams or cleaning, the fencing shall be designed as an interlocking guard. The interlocks shall meet the requirements of EN 10881995 and their control systems shall be at least category 1 according to EN 954-11996 for conventional circuits or category 3 for electronic circuits. In the loading and unloading area for bales and units, the following safety devices or measures shall be applied a design and arrangement of the continuous conveyors so that they prevent access to the danger zone and do not allow easy climbing onto the conveyors, for example by arranging them at a height of 1,0 m above floor level, and obstacles to prevent access between continuous conveyor and fencing so that access adjacent to the conveyor is not possible. Examples of obstacles to access are given in Annex F of EN 6192002; b use of continuous conveyors which cannot be walked on, for example chain conveyors; c fixed guards in accordance with EN 9531998; d interlocking guards in accordance with EN 9531998 and EN 10881995 or e ESPDs of type 2 or type 4 according to EN 61496-11997 and prEN 61496-21997. The control system of these safety devices shall comply with at least category 1 of EN 954-11996 for conventional systems and category 3 for electronic control systems.
